"Geomag" is a toy that can be used to construct various models by just using magnet rods and balls. It has small components that make a big structure just like lego.
From looking through "The grammar of Ornament" by Owen Jones, I was inspired by the geometric patterns on the ornaments created by the Moors. I decided to make some of my own geometric patterns by creating rules (Conditional design). The results are on the right.
(Top)-
1.Place 5 dots of different colours randomly around the page.
2.Connect each dot to every other dot.
3.Do a another round of only the colour of the dot you connect last.
4.Do this 5 times. Then connect every dot to every other dot.
5.Go back to step three until the 5 minutes are over

The bottom drawing had similar rules but was only restricted to red and black
There are a lot of games that has one simple rule; a Connection. These games include dominos, Jigsaw puzzles, magnets etc. I saw this as a metaphor of the relationship between interaction and interpretation and decided to use "Connecting objects together" as the main part of the creation of my game.

In another module (typography and Communication) I am doing a project based on a deaf boy.He says he has a tough time in school because he is deaf. I realise how little we know about deaf people. They seem to have a society of their own. For someone around people who are deaf or vice versa can be difficult. We find it difficult to interpret what they are saying.

I decided to make a game interpreting letters of the American Sign Language. The game is designed for the young and old to help us interpret sign language better. It can be used in schools to teach sign language in a fun way. The will have magnetic building blocks that have a sign on them and will be connected to another block that has the letter the sign interprets.
I Decided to do my research based on other games, and observe their rules. While doing my research I realised I lean towards games that are like building blocks
